ITINERARY:

International flight from London Heathrow to Kilimanjaro Airport, Tanzania on Kenya Airways (KQ)

Day 1 - Arusha / Ngorongoro - - duration 2.5hrs

Collection from Kilimanjaro Airport.

 Transfer to Ngorongoro Sopa / Serena Lodge

Lunch at the lodge and afternoon at leisure to enjoy the magnificent views from your lodge.  Dinner & overnight at the lodge.

Day 2 - Ngorongoro

After breakfast, transfer down to the crater for a day of game viewing.  Packed lunch will be provided.The first light of the day sends its golden shafts under the ethereal mist and fog hovering on the rim to spill in puddles of gold on the Crater floor far below.  The Crater is actually a huge caldera or collapsed volcano, 12 miles across, providing a Garden-of-Eden like home for the thousands of animals that live there.

Day 3 - Ngorongoro / Serengeti - duration 3hrs

Breakfast and transfer to Serengeti National Park stopping at Olduvai Gorge, made famous by the Leakey Family who began their excavations here in 1931.  Abundant fossil material dating back more than a million years, including hominid remains of Zinjanthropes bossei, have been discovered here. 

After a picnic lunch, you enter the short grass plains of Serengeti National Park, punctuated by periodic rocky outcrops (called kopjes).  Wildlife viewing en route, you arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon.

Day 4 - Serengeti

Full day of game drives in the Serengeti with either packed or hot lunch depending on the movement of the animals. The Serengeti is world famous as the home of a million and a half wildebeest and zebra.  There are a multitude of the other plains animals (more than 35 species) to see, as well as hippos, giraffes and black manned lions.

Day 5 - Serengeti - Manyara - duration 3hrs

After breakfast a further game drive in the Serengeti and drive to Lake Manyara with packed lunch. Afternoon of game drive in Lake Manyara National Park searching for wildlife taking their afternoon siesta. The park is bounded to the east by the shores of the lake and northwest of the Rift Valley.

Day 6 - Arusha - departure - duration 1.5hrs

Breakfast and transfer to Arusha.  Lunch may be taken in Arusha.  Transfer for your return flight from Kilimanjaro Airport or proceed with your chosen beach extension to Zanzibar.
